How to Use Your Pendulum Board

Instructions for Legacy Eutopia Free Pendulum Board

This pendulum board is designed to help you work with your pendulum in a clear, focused way. Before beginning, sit comfortably, relax your hand, and allow the pendulum to hang freely over the center point at the bottom of the board.

Hold the chain or cord gently between your thumb and forefinger. Try not to consciously move your hand. Allow the pendulum to settle before asking your question.

Before You Begin

Take a few slow breaths and become calm and centered. You may say:

“Please give me the clearest and most accurate response available to me at this time.”

Then ask your pendulum to show you YES, show you NO, and show you MAYBE. This gives you a chance to observe its movement before asking your actual question.

For this board, the ‘suggested’ movements are:

  • YES — the pendulum moves in agreement, often in a circular or forward-and-back motion that you recognize as your personal “yes.”
  • NO — the pendulum moves from left to right in a straight line.
  • MAYBE / UNCERTAIN — the pendulum moves clockwise.
  • STOP — when you are finished with an answer, simply say, “Please stop.” Allow the pendulum to become still before asking another question.

A pendulum’s yes/no signals are usually established by your own consistent response pattern.

So if yours repeatedly moves counterclockwise for yes, then for your pendulum that can simply be its “yes” signal.

A good way to confirm it is to calibrate with questions you already know the answer to, such as:

  • “Is my name ___?”
  • “Am I sitting down right now?”
  • “Is today Sunday?” if you already know the answer.

Watch the movement pattern several times. If counterclockwise keeps appearing for true statements, treat that as your yes.

Your pendulum may develop slightly different movements over time. If that happens, use the movement patterns that remain consistent for you.

Using the Alphabet

The letters A–Z may be used when you want the pendulum to spell a word, name, place, initial, or short message.

Begin with the pendulum resting over the center point and ask a clear question such as:

“Please show me the first letter.”

Allow the pendulum to move toward a letter. Once the letter is clear, ask the pendulum to stop. Return to the center and ask for the next letter.

Write each letter down as you receive it rather than trying to remember the entire sequence.

If the letters stop making sense, pause rather than forcing an interpretation.

Using the Number Scale

The number scale runs from −9 through 0 to +9.

You can use it for questions involving degree, intensity, direction, or a numerical scale.

For example:

“On a scale from negative nine to positive nine, what is the current influence of this situation?”

You can decide what the numbers mean before asking the question so the interpretation remains consistent.

For example:

−9 = extremely unfavorable
0 = neutral
+9 = extremely favorable

Symbols on the Board

🙂 Smiley Face — Positive / All Is Well

This symbol represents a positive response, favorable energy, reassurance, or “everything is okay.”

It can also indicate that the situation does not require further concern.

🙂❌ Smiley Face With an X — Stop Worrying

This means:

Stop worrying about this.

It may suggest that you are giving the situation too much attention, repeatedly asking the same question, or worrying about something that does not require further action right now.

When you receive this response, consider setting the question aside.

⌛ Sands of Time — Give It More Time

This symbol relates to timing.

It can mean:

Give it more time.

It may also indicate that the answer depends on timing, that something is still developing, or that it is simply not time to know yet.

Instead of immediately repeating the question, wait and ask again later.

🎯 Bull’s-Eye — Exactly / Right on Target

The bull’s-eye represents:

Exactly. Correct. Right on target.

It can indicate that the wording of your question, your understanding of the situation, or the answer you are considering is especially precise.

Ask Clear Questions

Pendulum work tends to be easier when questions are simple.

Instead of:

“Will everything work out with my job, money, home, and relationship?”

Ask one question at a time:

“Is accepting this job aligned with my present intentions?”

Then ask your next question separately.

Avoid combining several possibilities into one question.

Do Not Keep Asking the Same Question

If you receive an answer, allow it to stand.

Repeatedly asking the same question because you want a different answer can make the session confusing.

If you receive Stop Worrying, Give It More Time, or an unclear response, end that question for the moment and return to it another day.

Ending Your Session

When you are finished, say:

“Please stop. This session is complete. Thank you.”

Allow the pendulum to become completely still.

You can then put the pendulum and board away until your next session.

A Helpful Reminder

A pendulum is best used as a reflection and intuitive practice, not as a substitute for your own judgment or professional guidance. For important medical, financial, legal, safety, or other major life decisions, use reliable information and qualified professionals alongside your own discernment.

Trust your inner authority first.
